Mr. Bruno Génésio continues his journey in Beijing FC

After our negotiation with Mr. Bruno Génésio, the club finished the extension of the contracts with our French head coach and his coaching staff to one more year.

Born in 1966, Bruno Génésio started his player career in Olympique Lyonnais. His early manager career was marked by his reign in FC Villefranche and Besançon RC. He returned to OL in 2007 and was able to achieve competitive results in all competitions.

On 31 July 2019, Génésio signed for Beijing Sinobo Guoan FC. Despite external difficulties he had to confront at the very beginning, the Frenchman managed to familiarise with the team and players in brief time and helped the team react positively and change progressively in both trainings and games.

The team won seven games, drew once, and lost twice in the 10 league games he coached this season. Finished with 70 points, the Beijing FC were the runners-up of 2019 CSL and qualified for the group stage of 2020 AFC Champions League.

Génésio and his coaching staff will be regrouping with the first team lads in Spain next January to start their pre-season preparations. We hope that, after this complete preparation stage, the club will achieve better results in the upcoming season under our head coach.
