RESULT | Beijing FC defeated by Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC 0-1

The ACL match between Beijing FC and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC was the clash between the current table leaders of Chinese Super League and K-League. The game was also the fourth game of the home side during the past ten days. Beijing FC conceded a goal in the first half; despite the effort of our lads, they were unable to equalise in the second half. The game finished 0-1 as Beijing FC lost their first ACL home game – as well as their first home game – of the season. Beijing FC will play the last ACL group match on 21 May away against the Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds to secure a spot for the knockout stage.


Starting line-up: 14-Zou Dehai;38-Wang Gang (81’ 4-Zhang Yu), 19-Yu Dabao (C), 2-Kim Min-jae, 4-Li Lei (54’ 15-Liu Huan); 21-Jonathan Viera, 6-Chi Zhongguo, 10-Zhang Xizhe, 5-Renato Augusto; 17-Bakambu, 29-Ba Dun (70’ 9-Zhang Yuning ).

Unsubstituted players: 3-Yu Yang, 25-Guo Quanbo, 26-Lü Peng, 30-Lei Tenglong.

According to the ACL regulations, when teams in the same group tie on points, the following criteria (in descending order) will determine the side that qualifies for the knockout stage:

1. higher number of points obtained in matches between the teams concerned;

2. superior goal difference from matches between the teams concerned;

3. higher number of away goals scored in the matches between the teams concerned;

4. superior goal difference from all group matches;

5. higher number of goals scored in all group matches.
